Alex Fauer

Dr. Fauer is a nurse scientist, certified oncology nurse, and health services research. He studies factors influencing the quality, delivery, and outcomes of cancer care with quantitative and qualitative methodologies. He has published on topics such as patient experiences of care in older adults with hematologic malignancies, program evaluations of interventions to support bone marrow transplantation caregivers and influences of physical layouts and space on outcomes in ambulatory oncology practices. His research has been published in journals such as Journal of Geriatric Oncology, Supportive Care in Cancer, and Cancer Causes & Control. He is one of two nurse post-doctoral fellows in the National Clinician Scholars Program at UCLA, where he obtained a Master of Science in Health Policy & Management and rigorous training in implementation science. He was a 2019 recipient of the American Cancer Society’s Doctoral Degree Scholarship in Cancer Nursing. In 2022, Dr. Fauer will assume a role as Assistant Professor of Nursing.
