Elizabeth Broden's research focuses on nurse-family engagement and relationship-centered care during end-of-life (EOL) care in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). Her dissertation utilized mixed methods to generate a comprehensive picture of dying children's clinical presentation and their parents' perceived needs during EOL care. Her long-term-goal is to improve care for children and families navigating EOL and bereavement through nurse-led interventions. Clinically, Elizabeth has worked as a Pediatric Home Health Nurse (BAYADA) and as a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and now works in the PICU/Cardiac ICU at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (per diem). Elizabeth is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
