Katherine Miller

Katie Miller (née Finn) is a lecturer at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming and an adjunct instructor at both Laramie County Community College and Elmhurst University. She completed her BSN (‘15) and PhD (‘18) at the University of Michigan. While in her doctoral program, she traveled to Uganda to work with a multidisciplinary team examining the effects of severe malaria on pediatric cognitive functioning. Katie’s scholarly passions are in pursuing improved quality of life for children and vulnerable populations in low-resources settings through interdisciplinary and community-based partnerships. Additionally, she has been involved in projects to improve the identification of victims of human trafficking in the health care setting, curriculum development through an appreciative inquiry approach, and minority student retention in BSN programs. Currently, Katie is teaching health promotion, chronic illness management, and public/population health courses at the associates, bachelors and master’s levels at the three above institutions.
