Dr. Kelly Tan (UNC-Chapel Hill ’21), a quadruple Tarheel with a Biology BA, BSN, and PhD, has extensive experience in nursing and caregiving research. Her dissertation focused on allogeneic bone marrow transplant recipient caregivers (F31NR018098), and she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Cancer Care Quality Training Program (T32CA116339), working on interventions for cancer patients and caregivers. Her research interests include cancer, caregiving, stress mechanisms, positive psychology, and social determinants of health. Currently, she investigates the experiences of high-stress caregivers and the financial impact of cancer. Dr. Tan also explores implementation science and designs theory-based interventions for caregivers of individuals with chronic illnesses.
