Kristen Choi

Kristen Choi is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and Public Health at UCLA. Dr. Choi studies health services and policy approaches to behavioral health, trauma, and violence among children. Her current research projects include studies on developmental disabilities, adverse childhood experiences, and the intersection of homelessness and serious mental illness. Currently, Dr. Choi is funded by a career development award from AHRQ studying services for children with developmental disabilities at Kaiser Permanente Southern California (KPSC) and patient outcomes associated with implementation of California's autism mandate. She is an Adjunct Investigator in the Department of Research & Evaluation at KPSC and an Associate Director of Nursing for the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program. Dr. Choi maintains a clinical practice as a registered nurse (RN) at a community psychiatric hospital in Downtown Los Angeles. Dr. Choi is part of the third cohort of the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators.
