Prashamsha Sannareddy

Dr. Prashamsa Sannareddy is a distinguished member of the 7th cohort of Hillman Scholars at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning her PhD in 2024. Her doctoral research focused on understanding feeding outcomes in infants born preterm and small for gestational age, a critical area in pediatric nursing. Dr. Sannareddy's academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill and MS in Zoology from the University of Madras in India. Currently, Dr. Sannareddy is a postdoctoral research trainee at the UNC Marsico Lung Institute, a leading center for lung disease research and clinical trials. Her research during this fellowship is focused on identifying the primary forms of smoking-related airway disease and help determine whether symptomatic tobacco-exposed individuals with preserved spirometry represent an early precursor to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or a distinct pathological entity.
